OUR STORY
We are Malcolm and Julie, a young couple who live in the emerging design city of Baltimore, MD. We are influenced by the fertile ground of local makers, creators, and artisans. Having always had a love for curation and design, we decided to take on a creative endeavor, different from our analytical lives in medicine and engineering.
We visited Berkley Springs, WV, a small rural town with roots in arts and wellness, on the backdrop of forested land and Appalachian ridges. We were inspired by the nature and the culture of wellness. We saw an opportunity to create an intentional, design forward, grounding experience for ourselves and others.
I’ve always had an appreciation for beautiful objects, and have been a casual observer/student of design. When I met Malcolm I noticed he always had talent for collecting things (objects, music, books, experiences) that were high value, impactful, and deeply appreciated - what I later understood to be curation.
Together, we transformed a space and created an experience for our guests using our talents, inspired by the design and artisan community in our backyard - with special credit to Good Neighbor, Black Acres Roastery, Wight Tea Company, A Day in June Vintage and Justin Timothy Temple.
